FAQ

WHAT WILL MY CHILD EXPERIENCE IN THE JUDSON SCHOOL?

The Judson Early Childhood Education program is different from many others. First of all, this is not “babysitting.” We are 100% serious about the growth of your child: intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Early Childhood is a uniquely important period of life. That is the time when children develop the connections in their mind, spirit, and body that set them up for a lifetime of learning. At the Judson School your child will spend time outdoors in our state-of-the-art outdoor learning lab. We believe play is the most important way children of this age develop. At the Judson School play is very purposeful. Our goal is that your child will make connections with the natural world, with the tools of reading and understanding, with who God made them to be, and with one another. We will also spend a lot of time reading as well as engaging in artistic activity, such as music and dance.

WHAT ARE THE CLASS SIZES?
In the Judson School Early Education program the ratio of staff to students is about 1:5. Adult direction and support is a very important part of childhood development. For our first year we will offer classes for ages K-3 and K-4. We anticipate approximately 10-12 students for each class.
WHAT TYPES OF SNACKS DO YOU OFFER?

The Judson School is built on a “whole child education” philosophy. Nutrition is an important part of healthy development in children. All of our snacks encourage healthy eating habits. Typical snacks include crackers, cheese, and raw fruits and vegetables such as apples, oranges, and cucumbers. Water will be available during the day for children to drink. It is the parent’s responsibility to make us aware of any food allergies your child may have.

WHAT SECURITY MEASURES ARE TAKEN TO SAFEGUARD MY CHILD?

The security of each child is of the highest importance to us. Our campus is locked from the outside during the day.

WHAT IS THE SC EDUCATIONAL TRUST FUND?

The Education Scholarship Trust Fund is administered by the SC Department of Education. It allows qualifying SC families with a student in K-12th grades to apply for scholarship of $6000 per student. The Judson School is an approved childcare provider. Below are links to learn more and approved education service list.
